Skylight Panel
FRP skylight panel has been the staple of HIGOAL since 1996. HIGOAL is one of the first manufacturers who produced FRP skylight panel in China.
HIGOAL skylight panel is coated with 250um ISO-phthalic polyester gel coat on the surface, and our engineers believe that it fundamentally solved the problem of FRP fiber exposure.
 

Earnest promise: HIGOAL FRP skylight panel, which being produced in and after Nov.,2013, is all with protective gel coat.

HIGOAL FRP Skylight Panel Features:

1. Yellowing and weathering resistance. The aging of the FRP panel generally starts from the surface discoloration and fiber exposure, which along with
decrease on light transmittance. Thus the layer of 250um gel coat on the surface of skylight panel fundamentally solves the problem of fiber exposure.    
2. Thermal stability. FRP panel is glass fiber reinforced thermos-setting material. It will not be embrittled in cold, neither soften in heat. It can be used for long-term in ambient temperature of -30 ℃ to + 110 ℃.
3. Impacting resistance and low deflection. These enable FRP roof panel to withstand the impact of hailstone and typhoon.
4. Self-cleaning. With "lotus leaf effect", dirt is not mostly remained on the surface of FRP panel.
5. Similar thermal expansion coefficient to that of steel: ρ(CM/CM/℃):ρFRP=2.2 x10-5;ρIron=1.5 x10-5. The thermal expansion coefficient of FRP is basically the same as which of steel, so that the displacement caused by temperature difference is basically same. Therefore, it reduces the chance of water leakage from the cracking on drilled part, and deformation of the roof panel.
6. User-friendly design: FRP is a heterogeneous material, can refracts direct light into scattered light making the dazzling sunlight softer. It distributes sunlight evenly indoor, and offers more comfortable environment. Through other material(eg. PC panel), the light easily causes fatigue on eyes, and discoloration on floor or cargo with over exposure.

There are more than 200 section designs of corrugated panel in HIGOAL, which match almost all colored steel tile section in the market. HIGOAL also offers customized service upon your own design.

2. Design of skylight panel - purlin span:
FRP skylight panel is mainly used for roof daylighting band. The purlin distance is usually decided by color steel sheet section and its ability of wind pressure resistance and parameters of snow bearing .
≤1.0mm thk skylight panels are suitable being used as base plate of double-layer skylight roofing for nursery garden and greenhouse.
1.2mm thk skylight panels suit color steel plate at thickness of ≤0.476mm.
1.5mm thk skylight panels suit color steel plate at thickness of 0.476~0.6mm.
3.0mm thk skylight panels suit large-purlin-span building.


3. Selection on Day-Lighting Rate:
Take skylight panel at transparent rate of 65% as an example, with consideration on geographical factors, day-lighting rate of 11% is recommended in South China area (Higoal plant roofing uses the day-lighting rate of 11%), and which of 15% is recommended in the Southwest and Northeast China. Proper day-lighting rate increase the softness and comfort of sunlight. According to specific function, and industry, day-lighting rate of the plant roof can be selected in between 8% to 18%. (Note: excessive day-lighting rate will cause overheat in summer time.)

7. Designated Parameters on FRP Skylight Panel
A number of tests were performed on our FRP panel. The common parameters as below:
Bending Strength: 110MPa;
Tensile Strength: 84MPa;
Impact Strength :98MPa; 
Coefficient of Thermal Expansion: 2.2 x10-5CM/CM/℃
In coastal areas impacted by strong typhoons, it usually happens that the roof panel is damaged by typhoons. It is recommended to increase the purlin support quantity and make the span ≤750mm. 

The filmed skylight panel become chalked after being used for around three years, and on which there is severe fiber exposure. It causes discoloration and dust accumulation on the surface, and further damages the lighting effect and service life.

8. The Condensation Resistance Design on FRP Skylight Panel
When to use FRP skylight panel in steel structure construction where has a big difference in temperature indoors and outdoors, engineer need to consider the condensation problem. We believe the solution we have for this will do a lot of help to you, and we welcome your inquiry.
